Why it exists
The Triage Room exists because people paste things they shouldn't — not because they're careless, but because the alternative is doing the work by hand. Every day, contracts, personnel files, financial records, and client data move through AI tools with no record of what was shared or where it went. The Triage Room changes that. It doesn't block AI — it makes AI use something you can actually stand behind.
How it works
Every document runs through a 13-category detection engine before it reaches any AI model. SSNs, API keys, financial records, credentials — all of it is identified and masked, not deleted. The AI still gets useful context. It never gets the actual data.
Each document receives a criticality score: low, medium, or critical. Classification is automatic and immediate. You see what was found, why it was flagged, and what category it falls into. No guesswork. No configuration.
Documents containing credentials or regulated data are hard-blocked until you explicitly approve them. Every gate decision is logged with a timestamp and a reason. You have a full audit trail of what was held, what was approved, and who made the call.

- Social security and individual taxpayer numbers. Last 4 digits kept.
- EIN
- Employer identification numbers. Last 2 digits kept.
- Credit card numbers
- All major card formats, Luhn-validated. Last 4 digits kept.
- Bank account numbers
- Checking and savings account references. Fully masked.
- Routing numbers
- 9-digit ABA routing numbers. Fully masked.
- API keys
- sk-, AIza, ghp_, xox- and other common prefixes. Prefix kept, key replaced.
- Auth tokens
- Bearer tokens and authorization headers. Label kept, token replaced.
- Passwords
- password:, pwd: and similar label patterns. Label kept, value replaced.
- Email addresses
- All standard email formats. First character kept, rest masked.
- Phone numbers
- US formats with area codes. Last 4 digits kept.
- Dates of birth
- DOB references in common date formats. Fully replaced.
- Tax form references
- W-9, W-2, 1099 and related form mentions. Flagged.
- Account numbers
- General account number patterns by context. Contextually masked.
